Last Epson Tour Event and then Aramco Team Series

Motivated after winning her second career title on the Ladies European Tour, Klára Spilková enters the last tournament of the US Epson Tour season.

Start on the Epson Tour Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida (October 6–9) will be the Czech golfer’s first appearance since winning the KPMG Irish Women’s Open.

While the triumph at Dromoland Castle has moved the 27-year-old professional to the 15th place in the Race to Costa del Sol rankings after only four starts on the Ladies European Tour this year, Klára Spilková is currently holding the 40th place in the Race to the Card standings for ten cards for LPGA 2023. She is also playing for a better position in the Q-Series tournament so as to avoid the second phase of the LPGA qualification.

“I played at Daytona Beach several years ago in the Q-Series, so I know the course well,” said Klára Spilková from Florida. “The LPGA International club has two golf courses, but due to the Hurricane Ian the tournament had to be moved from Hills to Jones, which withstood the disaster much better. It is a miracle we are even playing. Sadly, there are still large areas of land and even houses flooded.”

The Jones course is a par 71 and 5,593 meters long. The tournament is played over four rounds with a total prize money of $250,000. Originally, Klára Spilková was going to appear at the previous tournament in Alabama, but after returning from Ireland to the USA, she fell ill.

“I only felt better on Tuesday, when I also went to practice for the first time. The next day, I completed a practice round in Daytona Beach. I am looking forward to the last Epson Tour tournament this season and I feel I am ready. Next week I will play the Aramco Team Series in New York,” reminded the currently 162nd player in the world ranking of her first start in the prestigious series on the Ladies European Tour, secured by her victory at the KPMG Irish Women’s Open.
