Klára Davidson Spilková: In the end, I’m satisfied with the tournament, especially with the last round

Czech professional Klára Davidson Spilková has concluded the third phase of this year’s season with a tied 15th place in the Netherlands. At the Big Green Egg Open in Hilversum, she recorded a score of 6 under par, a total of 210 strokes, (70-73-67) after three rounds. With this result, the Czech golf professional has earned 5,025 euros and maintained her position in the top ten of the Ladies European Tour Race to Costa del Sol year-round rankings.

“In the end, I’m satisfied with the result, especially with the last round. It’s always nice when you score on the last three holes and move significantly up the leaderboard. Especially before a short break for recovery and the final quarter of the season,” the player commented on the tournament in the Netherlands.

Although the results of many golf players may seem inconsistent, the broader top tier of the prime European competition, which includes five Czech professionals, has been closely contested for several years. The final ranking or overall victory can thus be decided by one or two mistakes or few poor strokes.

“Everyone makes a mistake during the tournament, and a lot depends on how they immediately react to it. Whether they can still save par, record a bogey or even worse. Mistakes just happen, and the most important thing is how quickly a player can recover from them and get back into the game. And also how many birdies they can play or how many long putts they convert. All of this, including consistent play, determines the overall result. Sometimes it can be just a single mistake throughout the entire tournament,” Davidson Spilková described the tough competition on the LET.

The Czech number one will now take a nearly four-week break for recovery and preparation for the final phase of this year’s season, which for her will begin with the Aramco Team Series team competition in Hong Kong on 6 October.

“I have two sponsor events in the Czech Republic scheduled, which I’m really looking forward to, and then a week-long vacation. After that, I’ll start preparing for Hong Kong. Now it will be two weeks of sponsor events and relaxation in which I will play golf just for fun, so let’s hope the weather stays great for few more weeks,” Davidson Spilková described her upcoming schedule.

Until the end of the year, Davidson Spilková will play at least three important tournaments: two Aramco Team Series team competitions in Hong Kong and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where players will compete for ranking points and a prize fund of one million US dollars, and the final tournament of the entire Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España series in Marbella, Spain.
