Season’s Finale in Spain

The last tournament of the LET 2022 season awaits Klára Spilková, who will be the only Czech female golfer to compete in the final event of the Ladies European Tour.

The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de Espaňa is played from November 24 to 27 at the Alferini Golf Club (Benahavis, 6090 meters, par 73) and will host the best 64 players of the season and another eleven invitees, who will compete for a total of 650,000 euros in prize money. Given the limited starting field, it is a four-round tournament with no cut.

Klára Spilková enters the tournament as the 17th player in the Race to Costa del Sol ranking. She has earned the high ranking with only six starts on the European series, the first of which brought her a tied 2nd place at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open in Beroun in June, and the fourth in September even her second victory of the career, from the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.

“I am happy that I can play the last tournament of the LET season on the Costa del Sol, where the weather is pleasant. As usual, it’s very windy there, with the wind swirling in the hills.. The golf course is located in this hills, which is atypical, so it has a large elevation and splendid views.” Klára was looking forward to the start.

Since her last tournament at the Aramco Team Series in Saudi Arabia, the Czech professional has spent a week at home in Prague, where she devoted herself to both physical preparation and indoor golf training. She flew to Spain on Sunday knowing her partner Sean Davidson will be her caddy for the weekend rounds, with whom she won the title in Ireland just two months.

“My game is solid and I believe it will show in the tournament,” added Klára Spilková, who will start in the flight with English Alice Hewson and Swedish Caroline Hedwall. She starts the first round at 11.15 CET. All four days of the tournament are broadcast live by O2 TV Sport.
